Thomas Baldwin, born Gateshead, England, June 10, 1945. Tommy Baldwin appeared for Arsenal, Chelsea, Millwall, Manchester United, Seattle Sounders, and Brentford in a career lasting 16 years.
Tommy Baldwin began his professional football career with Arsenal in 1962 and made his First Division debut for the club in a 3–0 win over Birmingham City at Highbury in April 1965. After scoring 7 goals in 17 First Division matches for The Gunners, he was transferred to Chelsea in part-exchange for George Graham partly into the 1966-67 season and made his competitive debut for The Blues in a resounding 4-1 victory over Manchester City at Maine Road on the 1st of October the same year, scoring one of the goals. An attacking midfielder, he went on to score 92 goals in 239 first-team appearances for Chelsea and won the FA Cup and thee UEFA European Cup Winners’ Cup during his time with the West Londoners. Unfortunately, Baldwin fell out with Stamford Bridge manager Dave Sexton and was loaned out to first Millwall and then Manchester United. He then joined the Seattle Sounders in 1975 before he rounded off his playing days with Brentford in 1978.
