Arthur Graham. born Glasgow, Scotland, October 26, 1952. Arthur Graham arrived at Aberdeen from Cambuslang Juniors at the beginning of the 1969-70 season and the outside-left was soon included in the first team at Pittodrie. A tremendously gifted teenager, Graham was an important part of the now legendary Aberdeen side that defeated Jock Stein´s Lisbon Lions 3-1 in the 1970 Scottish FA Cup Final.
Arthur Graham accumulated 220 Scottish Football League appearances for Aberdeen before the pacey winger moved on to English First Division club Leeds United for a transfer fee of £125,000 in the summer of 1977. At Elland Road, Graham managed to notch up a fine total of 47 goals in 260 appearances in all competitions for The Peacocks during his six seasons in West Yorkshire, but as the once mighty club were relegated to the Second Division in 1981-82, and failed to regain their status in the First Division the following season, he was eventually transferred to Manchester United for a bargain fee of £50,000 at the start of the 1983-84 campaign. He made his first competitive appearance for Manchester United in a 2-0 FA Charity Shield win over reigning Football League Champions Liverpool at Wembley on the 20th of August 1983 and his First Division debut for The Manchester Reds in a 3-1 victory against newly promoted Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford seven days later. Despite of the fact that he spent only two seasons at Old Trafford, he enjoyed a relatively successful spell under manager Ron Atkinson and the consistent and hard working performer played 37 Football League games for the side before he finished his professional playing career with Bradford City in 1987. A Scotland international, the Rick Wakeman look-a-like gained a total of eleven full caps after being given his senior debut by Ally McLeod as a second-half substitute for West Bromwich Albion flanker Willie Jonhston in a narrow 1-0 friendly defeat against East Germany in front of a 50,000 crowd at Stadion der Weltjugend in East Berlin on the 7th of September 1977.
